ABOUT US

LEARN, SERVE, PROTECT

The Maldives Police Service established the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement (NCPLE) on March 27, 2022, as the successor of Institute of Security and Law Enforcement Studies and the Police Academy, to provide relevant training and education for the police and law enforce-ment sector.

NCPLE aspires to achieve an operational and developmental advantage through cutting-edge tools, technology, and equipment, collaborative bilateral and multilateral agreements with local and international partner agencies, and ambitious human capacity development programs.

As a result, the primary goals of NCPLE are as follows:

  • To offer all security and law enforcement trainings;
  • To become the foremost law enforcement training provider;
  • To provide all law enforcement agencies with professional and academically competent training programs;
  • To achieve international benchmarking in the area of training and development for law enforcement.

NCPLEs courses and training programs are designed to encourage MPS to accomplish its strategic vision and policies. Furthermore, greater emphasis is placed on reflecting the essential idea of the MPS transformation process in course curricula.

Programs offered by NCPLE are designed to provide law enforcement officers with knowledge and training that is both career-relevant and meets the high academic expectations of a changing world. NCPLE programs provide opportunity for law enforcement professionals to receive knowledge and practical experience in their future professional responsibilities, giving them a leg up in their professions.

There are two types of NCPLE qualifications:

  • NCPLE approved programs – academic and skill based courses approved by the College Senate under the guidance and advice of Training Advisory Committee.
  • Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) accredited courses – these courses are accredited by MQA, the national awarding body of the Maldives, recognized under the Maldives National Qualification Framework.

NCPLE also offers customized programs to organizations seeking professional development opportunities. We specialize in providing custom made programs that fits your organizations specific training needs. Additionally, if you are interested in one of our programs or part of a program, you could contact us and discuss to come to an agreement of the specific training that you are seeking.
