In simple terms the basics of a crime scene involves foremost the officer safety, followed by victim, witness, and bystander safety. After safety issues, protection of the crime scene becomes a primary task. A crime scene can yield numerous clues. There are a number of well established crime scene investigation techniques that can mean the difference between an unsolved case and breaking it wide open.
The ISLES crime scene investigation training is an experiential training which imparts the law enforcement officer with the basics of everything involving a crime scene investigation including crime scene response, protection, bloodstain pattern analysis, evidence collection, tire tread evidence, photographing and casting evidence, elimination impressions, crime scene analysis, impressions left at a crime scene.
